Go Deeper (Full Masterclass)

TL;DR; This section of the docs is a trailer. If the ideas resonated and you want the full treatment — more examples, more tactics, more war stories — Xavier teaches the complete course on Udemy. Link below.

Everything in this section has been compressed. Each of the previous chapters — why training matters, broken knowledge, adult learning, planning, scripts, delivery and measurement, launch plan — exists in a much longer, more detailed form in Xavier's full masterclass.

The full masterclass covers, roughly:

  • A longer diagnosis of where organizational knowledge actually lives, and the specific ways it leaks over time.
  • A deeper treatment of adult learning theory with examples from real workplace training programs, including several where things went wrong and what the fix was.
  • Chapter-length walkthroughs of course planning and scripting, with before-and-after examples of actual courses Xavier has helped teams build.
  • Case studies of organizations that shifted from no training culture to a working training culture, what it took, and what the results looked like six months later.
  • A lot more on measurement, including how to set up useful proxies for learning outcomes when you can't measure the real thing directly.
  • Additional tactical material — how to run a kickoff workshop, how to review a draft course with stakeholders, how to coach reluctant subject matter experts into actually producing content.

It's not a substitute for this documentation — this doc is about how to use Lupo; the masterclass is about how to think about training as a whole.

Who it's for

The masterclass is aimed at anyone who has to produce training inside an organization and doesn't have a formal instructional design background. That covers most people who find themselves running training at a company: engineering managers, HR leads, product managers, subject matter experts, founders of small companies.

If you have a graduate degree in learning design, you'll already know most of the theory — but the practical workflow chapters (planning, scripting, launch) may still be useful, especially the AI-assisted production parts.

If you're just starting out and this is your first time thinking about training, this is the starting point we'd recommend.

Accessing the masterclass

The masterclass is hosted on Udemy. Search for Xavier Morera's training-design course, or ask your Lupo concierge during onboarding for the current link — we update it as the course is revised.

Lupo customers sometimes get a discount on the masterclass, depending on plan and promotion. Ask during your concierge call (see Book a Free Concierge Onboarding).

If you'd rather skip the masterclass

You don't have to take the masterclass to build a useful course with Lupo. The condensed chapters in this section plus the Launch Plan are enough to ship your first course.

The masterclass is for when you want to build a serious training practice, not just one course — when you're thinking about the second and third and tenth course, and about how your team's knowledge gets captured, maintained, and used at scale.
