Translate a Video
TL;DR; Translate a Video is in limited release — ask your Lupo contact to enable it for your account. Once it's on, upload a video, pick a language direction and a voice, and Lupo replaces the audio with a dubbed version and generates a matching subtitle file.
Before you start
- Translate a Video needs to be enabled for your account. If you don't see it, ask your Lupo contact — it isn't something you can turn on yourself.
- You need a video file, in
.mp4or.mov, 12 minutes or under.
Steps
Open the Create menu and select Translate a video. The item is only there when the tool is enabled for your account — if you don't see it, ask your Lupo contact rather than searching for it. (The Create menu itself appears only on lupo.ai, for accounts with a creator plan; it is never shown on a company's branded site.)
Choose the Source video file you want translated.
Choose a Translation direction. Today that's English to Spanish or Spanish to English — the only languages with dubbing voices ready. If the page names other languages under "Not yet available for dubbing", they can't be chosen yet. When only one direction is available it's shown as text rather than a dropdown.
Choose a Voice. One voice narrates the entire video — this replaces the original audio track completely (on-screen sounds go with it), so pick a voice you're happy hearing throughout, not just for one section.
Select Translate. The job runs on Lupo's side and the page refreshes its status every few seconds — Queued, Transcribing, Translating, Fitting to the timeline, Adjusting, Rendering, then Ready. You can close the page and come back; the job keeps running.
When it's done, find your video under Your translations on the same page. From there you can Download the translated video, get the Subtitles (.srt) file, open the Sync report, and open a Sync review that plays each segment.
What this doesn't do
Translate a Video dubs the whole video with a single voice — it doesn't keep multiple original speakers distinct, and it doesn't offer a faithful-replication mode versus a rewritten one the way converting a PDF to slides does.
Only English↔Spanish can be dubbed today; any other language the page names is listed as not yet available.
You can only run 2 translations at once, and 10 in a day, per person.
Common issues
"This tool is not available for your account." — Translate isn't enabled for you yet. Ask your Lupo contact.
"That language pair is not available." — the direction you picked isn't calibrated yet; use English↔Spanish.
"The video is longer than the {0}-minute limit." — trim the video to 12 minutes or under and try again.
"We could not read how long this video is. Please upload it as an MP4
or MOV file." — the file isn't a format Lupo can read; re-export as
.mp4 or .mov.
"You already have {0} translations running. Wait for one to finish and try again." — you're at the 2-concurrent limit; wait for one to finish.
"You have reached the limit of {0} translations in 24 hours. Please try again tomorrow." — the daily cap resets after 24 hours.
