Platform Overview
TL;DR; Platform owners get an extra tools menu the rest of the product never shows — company and subscription management, the Learn admin consoles, and the button that publishes these docs. Everything on this page is about finding that surface, not using any one tool in it.
Before you start
Nothing — if you have platform-owner access, the menu described here is already there.
Steps
Look for the tools icon (a wrench and screwdriver) in the top nav. It's invisible to everyone else, including a Company Administrator — there's no partial or degraded version of it for lesser roles.
Inside, the tools are grouped by what they touch:
- Administration — Customer Workspaces and Course Admins, the two Learn consoles. See Customer workspaces and Course admins.
- System Management — Companies, Departments, Department Users, Subscriptions, Month Minutes, All Users, Project Users and Plans: the platform-wide record-keeping side, distinct from any one company's own admin console.
- Admin Tools — Create Team Account, Help Me Write, Update Docs (the button described in Publishing these docs), Admin Panel and Translate Jobs.
- A Demo & Catalog group at the top — the playground course, the design catalog, and Exit brand preview.
Re-indexing and purge aren't in this menu — they live inside the Knowledge Base and course screens they act on. See Re-indexing content and Purge.
While you're looking at a customer's branded pages, the menu shows only that tenant's own tools plus Exit brand preview. The platform-wide groups come back once you leave the brand.
What this doesn't do
There's no "view as" or impersonation tool anywhere in this surface — you can't see the product through another user's eyes from here. Brand preview shows you a tenant's colours and logo on your own session; it doesn't change what you're allowed to do.
