Watch a Video
TL;DR; Play the video and Lupo tracks how far you get. Once playback reaches 90% of the video, the activity is marked complete on its own — there's no button to press.
Before you start
You need to be enrolled in the course. See Take an on-demand course for how course content is organized.
Steps
Open a video activity from the course's content page. Its row has a play icon and the video's length in minutes, or the word Video if no length is set.
Play the video with the player's controls. Captions provided in Lupo start turned off; if the video has any, turn them on from the player's captions menu.
Check the note under the player. If it says playback progress is tracked automatically, your viewing counts toward completion and there's nothing to submit. If it says watched tracking isn't available, the video plays here but watching it won't mark it complete.
Lupo records how far into the video playback gets. Once that reaches 90%, the activity is marked complete, and the Your progress card beside the video reads Completed. Because it's measured by position, skipping ahead counts too. On a narrow screen, the card is under On this page.
If Ask Lupo is available for the video, an Ask Lupo panel appears below it. Type a question about the video and select Send. Answers are based on this video's transcript. Select a highlighted timestamp in an answer to jump the player to that moment. If the video doesn't cover what you asked, you may not get an answer.
This panel only knows about the video you're watching. The course's own Ask Lupo tab, at the top of the course's content page, answers across the course: its indexed videos, plus any documents and images the course uses from the Knowledge Base.
What this doesn't do
Finishing a video doesn't move you to the next activity — select Next yourself.
Leaving and coming back later doesn't resume playback from where you stopped; the video starts from the beginning. Your recorded progress toward completion is kept, though, and rewatching a completed video never undoes its completion.
The Ask Lupo panel doesn't keep your conversation. Leave or reload the page and it starts fresh.
Common issues
The video never shows as complete — check the note under the player. If it says watched tracking isn't available for this video, watching it here can't complete it; ask your instructor. Otherwise, make sure playback reaches at least 90% of the video.
There's no Ask Lupo panel — the panel only appears when Ask Lupo is turned on for both the course and the video, and not every video offers it. Videos embedded from YouTube or other sites never do. The course's Ask Lupo tab may still be able to help.
"We're preparing this video for the assistant." — the video's transcript isn't ready yet. This usually takes a few minutes. The page checks on its own and reloads when processing finishes, whether or not it worked. If the transcript is ready, the Ask Lupo panel appears. If processing failed, the page says instead that the video couldn't be prepared for the assistant — ask your instructor.
